[News] UEE's Mother Picks Kim Hyun Joong (김현중) as Perfect Husband Material [2013.06.02]

UEE's mother picked fellow 'Barefoot Friends' cast member Kim Hyun Joong as the best husband for her daughter on the latest episode of the travel variety program (although, to be quite honest, is anyone surprised?).
As the cast members gathered in one place with UEE's mother prior to departure, she was asked to choose the most well-suited husband for her beautiful daughter from the roster of cast members. Although she held some reservations - "he doesn't look the brightest" - she still picked Kim Hyun Joong as the one who would make the best potential suitor.

[Spoiler] Kim Hyun Joong (김현중) Powers Through Despite Minor Injury While Catching Lobsters on 'Barefoot Friends' [2013.05.26]

Kim Hyun Joong suffered a minor cut to his finger while catching lobsters with his bare hands on 'Barefoot Friends'.
On the May 26th broadcast, the 'Barefoot Friends' were whisked off to Yogyakarta, Indonesia where the members were challenged to catch spiny lobsters among the rocky island before the waves reach their peak.
Kim Hyun Joong surprised the cast with his fearless spirit by effortlessly climbing and crossing over from rock to rock to catch the lobsters from the waves. Once the actor successfully caught the spiny creatures, Kim Hyun Joong's finger began to bleed, but the actor brushed it off as if it had no effect on him sharing, "I feel good", revealing his love for the waves and mother nature.
Who knew the former 'Flower Boy' was this rugged.

[News] Kim Hyun Joong (김현중) Braves the Waves on 'Barefoot Friends

Kim Hyun Joong took a brave step forward on the latest episode of SBS' travel variety program, 'Barefoot Friends'.
During their voyage in Indonesia, the cast members traveled to a remote island to try and capture some of the famed Indonesian rock shrimp. However, along the way, they encountered a perilous cable car journey between two rocky outcrops. Traveling between two flimsy ropes above a whirlpool-filled ocean, the members had to pull the car themselves to get across the ocean.
Despite what looked like a treacherous crossing, Kim Hyun Joong volunteered to be the first one up to bat. Greeting the camera, he stoically said, "Thank you to everyone who followed Kim Hyun Joong for the past years", before taking a figurative leap of faith on the cable.
Although afraid at first, the entrancing vista of the ocean waves and the horizon soon pushed any fear from his mind as he whooped in surprise. "The view is incredible," he told his fellow team members once he had safely crossed. "It's not that hard."

The SBS series Good Sunday—Barefoot Friends, in which the cast get along well with the natives of Indonesia, will be aired in May 12. In the series, the the cast are given the mission of living like the natives for 24 hours. To fulfill their mission, they visit a produce market in Yogyakarta at dawn. They try their hand at the work of carrying things piggyback, called gendong in the Indonesian language.
Wandering around the produce market, the barefoot friends compete against each other to get hired. Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Si Yoon sing “GEE,” a Girl’s Generation song, and dance together to capture the attention of a girl who is the daughter of the owner of an apple shop. All the people laugh at them.
Barefoot Friends is a reality show that takes the cast (Kang Ho Dong, Yoon Jong Shin, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum Soo, Yoo Se Yoon, Yoon Si Yoon, Eun Hyuk of Super Junior, and UEE of Aftershool) to places around the world and has them try to live like the locals.

Kim Hyun Joong made 30,000 Rupiah from the today's work and became a 'Gendong Hero' which wowed all the members. However Kang Ho Dong only made 10,000 Rupiah (only from carrying 5 baskets. *wait.. means Hyun Joong carried 15 baskets?).
Yun Jong Shin said they earned the money in good-looking order! and suggested to praise the 'gendong hero' and add up all the money they earned. Yun Si Yun volunteered to manage the money.
But Kim Hyun Joong felt it was unfair to work harder but spend money equally. He suggested to spend what they earned lol.
Yun Jong Shin said he knew Hyun Joong helped his friends run chicken restaurant (Jakksal Chicken lol), and he could do for 'Barefoot Friends' too.
Kim Hyun Joong answered, like what Yu Se Yun hyung said the previous day, they were not friendly each other yet. ROFL
Yu Se Yun "I think we became friendly.. almost" LOL
All of a sudden, all the members started flattering Kim Hyun Joong.
Yun Jong Shing "I knew how to pronounce 'SS501' from their debute".
Yu Se Yun "We took shower together (〃▽〃)".
Yun Si Yun "I accepted BF's offer because of HJ"
But as soon as UEE said "I have changed my ideal type after seeing Hyun Joong at Barefoot Friends", Kim Hyun Joong shouted "Uee, call!" ROFL
Yu Se Yun tried once again, "for me, Hyun Joong is like a father" which made Hyun Joong burst into a laughter.
Finally Hyun Joong decided to add all the money up for the breakfast and keep 70,000 Rupiah (for a room pay?).
As soon as he finished the sentence Kang Ho Dong took Hyun Joong's money. lol
