Held at the Hong Kong Convention Center on the night of December 20th, Kim Hyun Joong came away with 56 million online votes, earning him the trophies of ‘Asia Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, ‘Korea Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, ‘Hong Kong Top Buzz Solo Artist‘, and ‘Taiwan Top Buzz Solo Artist‘. It was a special moment for fans, as it marked his 3rd consecutive year winning at the ceremony.

Kim Hyun Joong won not one, not two, but four awards at the 2011 Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards, strengthening his career as a hallyu star.
At the 2011 Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards held in Hong Kong on December 20, Kim won the Asia Top Searched Popular Star Grand Prize after gathering 56 million votes on an online poll held for Asian stars. He also won the K-Pop Buzz Single Artist Award with 7.8 million votes in a Male Buzz Star poll.
He also won the Netizen’s Choice Best Korean Star Award from Hong Kong and Taiwan adding two more trophies to his stash for a total of four.
The Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards is a global promotional ceremony which announces entertainment trends for the year based on search statistics, and awards stars who lead those trends.
Kim first expressed his thanks in English, then said, “I’m thankful to all those fans who have sent in much love during my promotion, and I’ll repay them with a better image next year.”
Kim released his new digital single Marry Me on December 15. He will spend the rest of his year appearing on year-end music programs and considering his next acting piece.

At the ’2011 Yahoo! Buzz Awards Ceremony’ which took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on December 20th, Kim Hyun Joong received the ‘Asia Top Buzz Male Artist Award’ which is awarded to the most popular star in Asia.
Kim Hyun Joong is the only Korean artist to be receive the award 3 years in a row. In 2009, Kim Hyun Joong received ‘Korea Top Buzz Male Artist award’. In 2010, Kim Hyun Joong received both the ‘Top Searched Artist in Asia Award’ as well as the ‘Top Searched Korean Buzz Star Award’.
At the ceremony, Kim Hyun Joong stated, “I am very honored to receive an award 3 years in a row. Thank you. I am just grateful that I am so welcomed each time”, earning the applauses of the fans.
Kim Hyun Joong did not forget the fan service for the Chinese speaking fans. Kim Hyun Joong stated, “I will be working in China soon. Please keep your expectations up”, exciting the fans. After he finished his speech in Korean, he also said his speech in Chinese and English as well drawing attention.
